Septoplasty is a surgical procedure used to correct a deviated septum, a condition in which the nasal septum (the cartilage and bone separating the nasal cavity) is displaced to one side.
This misalignment can restrict airflow, leading to a sensation of nasal blockage on that side. A deviated septum may cause breathing difficulties, frequent sinus infections, and other nasal issues.
The surgery aims to straighten or reposition the septum, thereby opening the nasal passages for improved airflow and better breathing. Typically, the procedure is carried out through the nostrils, so no external incisions are necessary. Mr Kanzara will conduct a thorough examination of your nose before recommending surgery.
