Nasal Polypectomy

Nasal polypectomy is a surgical procedure used to remove nasal polyps, which are benign (non-cancerous) growths that develop in the lining of the nasal passages or sinuses.

These polyps often arise from chronic inflammation caused by chronic sinusitis, allergies, or asthma. Nasal polypectomy can be performed as a standalone procedure but is usually conducted in combination with endoscopic sinus surgery.

Patients will require a computed tomography scan of the sinuses before this procedure is performed, and Mr Kanzara will have a detailed discussion about the scan with you before your surgery if it is necessary. Occasionally, polyps can be managed medically with nasal steroid sprays and tablets steroids.
